We live a Victorious Life

Today was pretty awesome. If you're alive in Christ, every day is pretty awesome if you reflect and meditate. But even in the context of awesome days, this Sunday stands out. Today was a divine appointment in which reflecting on it is almost overwhelming. So much happened that I almost don't feel like typing it all out. But you must know that the Kingdom is being advanced.

Three weeks ago Pastor Howard Williams invited On Our Hearts to present the gospel at Victorious Life Christian Center in Tamarack Circle, Columbus, Ohio.

Dave and I didn't know what to expect. We had never met the people of this church and only I had the privilege of meeting Pastor Howard previously. Last night we spent nearly three hours practicing, praying, and touching on the implications of scripture we so desperately felt needed to be heard. It was so cool to see how God was organizing our thoughts and guiding us despite our imperfect but hungry vessels.

It didn't matter what we were expecting. God was in control. We stayed focused to share what was on our hearts. We chose Ephesians 2:1-10 as our focus for the message. We really felt like we needed to share about our spiritual death from which we have been so graciously awakened from. Read that scripture. It is beautiful and sums up the gospel so elegantly in just 10 verses.

We were blown away by the intercessory prayer before the service. It was thick and drenching. It lasted for about an hour. The meeting started promptly with worship at 10:30 and we dug in right away with prophetic words and beautiful music. We played Come, Now, Better is One Day/Shout to God, Oceans from the Rain, and Damaged (original) before splitting the message up with a cover of Pieces by Red. God certainly knew what he was doing placing those songs in our lives.

God lead us to share and it touched someone. The Word spoke so strongly this day that 4 people committed their lives to Jesus including a Father and son, a former thug, and another gentlemen who left his information on a card!!!!! Hallelujah!

I shouted, sang, preached, prayed, and cried out and it was glorious. Lives are being changed and I am so glad to be used by God, for God. Even though we believed we were sharing a blessing we received one as well being humbled and given a clear vision for the work God wants us to do. Thank you Victorious Life Church for letting us in your home, we love you.

Dave here. First, I just want to thank God for the calling that he has placed upon all whom he calls his own in Christ!

Today, Matt and I were walking in blind and we soon came to realize that our God is true to his word when he says that he goes before us. Today, he prepared hearts who knew that something was missing, they knew that we had something different and they wanted it!

My view of today is that of confirmation. Confirmation that I am indeed a child of God and that he loves me!!! When it comes to speaking to people about Jesus, the enemy has all of these negative thoughts that he drills into my head. Sometimes, I believe the lies, but not today. When we walk in the reality that God views us as his children and carriers of his promise that a Comforter will be with us for ever --- he blesses it!

There is no amount of money that I could pay to see a father take his son by the hand and boldly approach the altar of grace and forgiveness and for both of them to accept Jesus!!! When a man shows up by divine appointment (long story) and renounces his thug, money, cars, drugs and women life in exchange for Christ's clean, holy, redeemed and incomparable life, you know that God is using you. Another man, as Matt mentioned filled out a card letting the leadership team know that he had given his life to Jesus as well!

Matt and I were confirmed in what is ON OUR HEARTS today. I look forward to many more lives being changed. I look forward to the great work of the expansion of the Kingdom of God. I look forward to sharing this hope with you all, and maybe the Holy Spirit will speak to you too, letting you know that you can do it too! We are called to be Jesus to a dead and decaying world. We are called to lift each other up! We are a team! We are ON OUR HEARTS!

One Love, One Truth, One Destiny!!!

Dave

Update for June

Please continue to pray for us. As we we seemingly intravenously receive blessings from God, we sing the anthem from 1000 Generations , "Let this be not of our hands, but by your SPIRIT!" Why have been putting money and hope into what we believe we are called to do as disciples of Christ. I have recently re-inserted myself in the Open Mic Night culture fostered at Sam Ash Music Store and it is a joyful, beautiful thing. God brings about so much truth and talent to Morse Rd. every Wednesday night and I feel at one with music when I am there. David has returned from Jamaica, to the rain and ever alternating weather of Southern Ohio. He feels blessed to be back. He will be working at Camp Swoneky and preparing for the next foot of our journey of leading others into the truth of Christ and the worship of the one true God. Please continue to pray for us. We have hundreds of miles to prepare for and anticipation for the souls we haven't met yet. Pray that God paves the road, he...

Keeping Hope

Hey guys, We hope this entry finds you in a posture of hope. As President Snow put it in The Hunger Games series, "Hope is the only thing stronger than fear. A little hope is effective. A lot of hope is dangerous." What he knew, and what we all felt when we heard him speak those words, was the truth of this claim. How many stories and heroes do you think would have been ignored by history if they gave up hope of the very best outcome from a really crappy situation? They hoped for something much, much better than what they were experiencing. I can imagine many of them hoping for a paradigm shift in how their people were treated, freedom. Many of them hoped for prosperity amid poverty. Many of them hoped that for a great evil to cease and many more simply hoped that the sickness would pass, so they held on. Many of us may feel like we're living that last one out. That's because we are. Television and cinema always kept the idea of a pandemic in the back of ou...

Birthdays. Everywhere. Especially today.

Today was pretty awesome. Well, with Jesus, every day is inspires awe in me. Today is my birthday as I was born from my mother's womb on April 13th, 1986 at 6:55 in the evening. But my physical birth isn't to be celebrated as much as another birth we saw happen in front of our eyes . We met a gentlemen today who came in broken mess, but left a new creation ( 2nd Corinthians 5:17 ). God called him home today and like the prodigal son, he returned and he used us to reach him. I am humbled. As we lead the Lima, Oh Salvation Army in worship and shared what was on our hearts, the Lord was speaking. I looked over our notes after washing and dressing and I prayed this morning that the Lord would say what he would through us. He certainly had a lot to say. We laughed, we cried, we sang, and we were very blessed. It's so good to know that God didn't close the curtain on our drama because of the bomb we made of it. It's good news that out of His great love for us and ...
